Designmeesters is the design studio of Tom Dissel (Design Academy Eindhoven) and Timon Scholten (Utrecht School of the Arts). The name speaks to mastery — of the craft, of the discipline — and reflects their shared passion for furniture, materials and form.
They met in education, where they continued to develop and refine their vision of design. Their approach is exploratory and intuitive: they prefer to work from the material itself, letting experimentation guide the process. This results in designs that radiate calm, strength and quiet craftsmanship.
Their furniture is instinctive and timeless, combining strong functionality with unexpected details. Pieces in which the making process and an eye for precision are unmistakably present.
