Relax, it’s a JORI : Our icon of seating comfort is undoubtedly the JORI relax chair.
JORI developed and produced a relaxing chair like no other in which the human body is fully and totally relaxed and the heart is in perfect balance. An intense collaboration with product developer, Paul Verhaert, and intensive scientific university research were the underlying features of this.
Muscle tone 0 !
Erasmus University in Rotterdam carried out an independent, objective study into the ideal relax chair. Electrodes were placed onto the bodies of trial participants in order to measure muscle resistance. It was only when the participants sat in a JORI relax chair that the electrodes were unable to detect any muscle resistance. This means that the muscles were fully relaxed or in other words muscle tone = 0.
Ideal heart balance !
In a lying position in a JORI relax chair, the brain, heart and feet are all line with each other, resulting in the least stress on the heart for pumping blood to the rest of the body. We call this situation the “ideal heart balance”.
This position is unique to JORI relax chairs; other arms chairs are often set in such a way that the head is positioned too high and the feet too low.
Optimal location of the hinge point!
In order to allow you to dream away the hours, an ideal hinge point ensures that neither your shirt or blouse will be pulled up or down out of your trousers or skirt as you move from a lying to sitting position or vice versa.
Based on this pearl of technical excellence, we also developed the JORI TV Chair.
