History
JORI before & now
Under the name JORI, Mr Jorion began producing and creating 'contemporary seating' in Wervik in Western Flanders (Belgium) in 1968. Over the years JORI has specialised in high-class, leather, contemporary seating units, which are a perfect combination of exclusive design, optimum seating comfort and high quality.
Innovation
In the early 1970s co-operation began with internationally famous, including Jean-Pierre Audebert, and product developers such as Paul Verhaert. In the early 1990s two new young designers, Christophe Giraud and Koen Verhaert, joined the existing team. This team was also backed up by a highly effective Research & Development department, so that every new model reflects the spirit of its age in terms of design and price.
Mental Comfort
JORI aims for 'Mental Comfort'. 'Mental Comfort' stands for a unique world, a world of unlimited comfort, where design and quality create a universe in which the body can relax endlessly. The most progressive technology and the most modern design are only significant if they are placed entirely at the service of enhanced seating comfort. Driven by this philosophy, JORI remains 'your innovative partner in high-class seating'.
1 name, 3 brands
JORI manages to keep re-inventing itself. In 2003, the furniture manufacturer took the world by surprise with its Kamasitra collection, a prestigious young and trendy line in seating furniture.
Less than a year later, JORI showcased the Diners, its first chair collection and again a brand positioning with a clear signature.
With the launch of the Originals, a new brand which incorporates the more traditional JORI line of products, in 2005 JORI completed the last step in redrawing its brand architecture.
The entire seating furniture collection has now been segmented into three strong and distinct brands: Originals, Diners and Kamasitra. Each in their own specific way, these three brands round up the traditional values that are so typical of every single piece of JORI seating furniture: sophisticated design, peerless seating comfort, styling by leading designers and executed in exclusive quality leather.
At home and abroad
As assembly company, JORI realises today, with 170 employees, a turnover of around 35.8 million EURO. World-wide JORI exports to almost 30 countries. In addition JORI seating units are produced under licence in countries such as Japan, Australia and Singapore. With this JORI has grown into one of the most important European manufacturers in its sector.
